My name is Ryan Horn and I am here in Herne for the 2021/2022 school year working as a "Fremdsprachenassistent" at Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium. My home is 4,623 miles (7,440 km) away in Lenexa, Kansas. You may have heard of my home state from the old film "The Wizard of Oz", but I regret to inform you that I don't personally know anyone named Dorothy with a dog named Toto. I come from a town just outside of Kansas City, which is also known as the "City of Fountains". Kansas City is also the BBQ capital of America with world famous Barbeque joints all over town. I highly recommend a visit to the KC area whenever you may find yourself on the other side of the Atlantic! I studied "Deutsch als Fremdsprache" during my bachelor studies at Kansas State University, and I was lucky enough to spend the 2018/2019 academic year at our partner university in Gießen near Frankfurt am Main. I am currently in Herne through the Fulbright ETA scholarship program, and I am very excited to be here in the Ruhrpott working with my wonderful OHG colleagues with my skills as a native speaker!
Wir freuen uns sehr, dass wir Ryan als Fremdsprachenassistent am OHG begrüßen dürfen. Er bringt internationalen Flair an unsere Schule und wird uns toll im Englischunterricht und darüber hinaus unterstützen. Herzlich willkommen, Ryan!
